The club's talent identification processes help to identify and keep track of new and improved players that may be ready to be selected in Thunder FQ Academy teams. Talent identification processes include identifying, coaching, monitoring and assessing players through their participation in:

Each year coaches complete a mid-season and end of season player assessments to provide feedback to players about their strengths and areas for further improvement. The end of season coach assessment is also used as the basis for determining which players will automatically be retained for the following year and which players will need to attend trials and compete for their spot in a team.
The club aims to retain approximately 80% of players each year, demonstrating a firm commitment to the long-term development of players. At the same time however, the club recognises that new players must also be afforded the opportunity to be selected.
Current SWQ Thunder FC players that are automatically retained will receive a player offer through Majestri. Current SWQ Thunder FC players who are not automatically retained for the following year are invited and encouraged to attend trials. participate in Thunder programs are invited to attend trials.

All players are required to purchase and wear SWQ Thunder
FC Clothing to all training sessions and games.
The table below shows the compulsory clothing items required by players of each team. Optional clothing items can also be purchased.
New players to the club must purchase all compulsory clothing items. This can be done by purchasing all items in a bundle from the Online Shop during the registration process.
Returning players only need to purchase the clothing items that they
require to supplement their existing club clothing. Players should plan well in advance for clothing purchases, particularly winter clothing, spare clothing and larger sizes for growing young bodies. The club carries limited stock and ordering takes time for production, delivery and distribution.
The club generally advertises order windows to minimise the number of orders that the club is placing with our clothing partner KAPPA.
All clothing purchases must be paid for in full and are not able to be included in payment plans. Clothing items will not be distributed until they are paid for in full.
A KAPPA sizing chartis provided for all KAPPA clothing to assist players/parents to order the correct sizes.
Parents or players can email clothing@swqthunder.com if you require any assistance with clothing purchases.
